Fashion designer and expert in African fabrics Rose Palhares presented to the public her latest collection, entitled “What If Venus Was Bantu?”

Last Sunday, May 31, fashion designer and African fabric specialist Rose Palhares presented to the public her latest collection, entitled “What If Venus Fosse Bantu?”.

The meeting brought together several women in an environment marked by sharing, inspiration and reflection, where fashion intersected with themes such as health, well-being and identity.

Throughout the event, Rose explained the path that gave rise to the new collection. The creator revealed that the inspiration came during a research on the Kemet civilisation, currently known as Ancient Egypt. It was in this process of discovery that he found historical and cultural elements that transformed his artistic vision.

According to the designer, many trends and references used by the contemporary fashion industry have a strong connection to African cultures. From this finding, he deepened the study of the figure of Venus, a symbol often associated with beauty, femininity and sensuality, questioning how this representation would be seen through the perspective of the Bantu peoples.

From this reflection was born a collection that seeks to value the African woman in her essence. Each piece was designed to unite modernity and tradition, demonstrating that it is possible to innovate without losing the connection to the origins.

More than presenting clothes, Rose Plalhares proposed a narrative that celebrates African cultural heritage, female strength and the importance of preserving identity through fashion.
